A Contemplative Revolution:
Eucharistic Beholding, Believing, and Becoming in a Frenetic Age

Saturday, July 26, 10:30 a.m.
St. Gregory the Great Church
5545 N Paulina St, Chicago, IL

A talk by Timothy P. O'Malley (Notre Dame)

Life moves fast, especially in a city like Chicago. This addiction to speed is worsened by a digital culture where immediacy becomes the norm. In this talk, Timothy P. O’Malley invites you to pause for a moment and ask two key questions. Why is a contemplative revolution needed right now, and how might the Eucharist teach us to be protagonists in this rebellion against speed?

About our speaker

Timothy P. O’Malley is a Catholic theologian, author, and professor. He serves as the associate director for research at the McGrath Institute for Church Life at the University of Notre Dame and academic director of the Notre Dame Center for Liturgy. O’Malley is the author of many books, including most recently Behold, Believe, Become: Meeting the Hidden Christ in Things We See, Say, and Do at Mass (Ave Maria Press, 2024).

About the Eucharistic Revival Speaker Series

In light of the recent National Eucharistic Revival, there is a renewed emphasis on Eucharistic piety, adoration, and belief in the Catholic church today. This series explores the surprising ways in which the Eucharist forms us both in what we believe and how we live as individuals and as a community. It is made possible by a grant from the Helen Brach Foundation.
