CONVIVIUM MARIANUM
|
On December 15, St. Gregory's Hall held the third annual Convivium Marianum, a unique service that combines prayers and readings from the daily office of Marian feasts throughout the year with beautiful sacred music dedicated to the Mother of God. Bishop Joseph Perry, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Chicago, presided.
The large choir was composed of St. Gregory's Schola, Chicago Catholic Choir, Vox Fideles Children’s Choir, and the St. Gregory Parish Choir under the direction of composer-in-residence Kevin Allen. The repertoire included the anonymous 15th century English hymn "There is no Rose of Such Virtue," "Dixit Maria" of Hans Leo Hassler, and "O Emmanuel" by Kevin Allen. Support for the event and our sacred music program was generously provided by members of our host committee. Host CommitteePatrons
