Sacred Heart Drawing Workshop

Be guided in the creation of a drawing of the Sacred Heart of Jesus using graphite powder and pencil to create dramatic light and sfumato shadows in this devotional image for the month of the Sacred Heart. 
Ages 13+, some drawing experience necessary.

Note: students will be provided with a contour drawing so that all proportions will be accurate and this class can focus on the subtle modeling of light and shadow.

Sarah Crow is a sacred artist who has mastered Baroque oil painting techniques (see her reproduction of Caravaggio’s Calling of Saint Matthew here). She is a former lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and currently the artist in residence at St. Gregory’s Hall where she maintains an active studio of both sacred art commissions and representational paintings.
