The Church Beautiful in Historic Edgewater

St. Gregory's Hall and Catholic Church Tours have partnered to bring you this mini-pilgrimage of the three churches of Mary, Mother of God Parish led by artist-in-residence Sarah Crow. Immerse yourself in Chicago history and the richness of Catholic architectural and artistic traditions with a tour of:
  • St. Thomas of Canterbury: 1916 colonial church with shrines to martyrs of England and Vietnam)
  • St. Gregory the Great: 1924 English Gothic church with masterful woodworking of early 20th century German artisans)
  • St. Ita: Henry Schlacks designed 1927 French Gothic masterpiece)

Meet at St Ita, 5500 N. Broadway, Chicago. Transportation is on your own. Free parking in church lots.

About your tour guide

Sarah Crow received her BFA in painting and minor in creative writing from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in 2013, and an MFA in painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in 2016. She currently lives and works in Chicago where she has also taught as a part-time lecturer at SAIC in the Painting and Drawing Department. Sarah entered the Catholic Church in 2017 and seeks to use her talents to serve Mother Church. You can learn more about her work here.
