Manuscript Illumination Workshop: Our Lady of the Rosary

Join St. Gregory’s Hall artist-in-resident Sarah Crow for a one-day workshop in medieval manuscript illumination in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary.
Participants will make their own paints using a medieval recipe and reproduce a 15th-century illumination of The Virgin and Child in a Red Rose c. 1480 (pictured).
Registration deadline is Sunday, October 1. $100 Registration fee includes materials. Open to anyone age 12 and up. Register by filling out the form below. Discounted registration is available for those who need it. Contact us for more information.
You can pay online or mail a check. Make checks payable to Mary, Mother of God Parish with "St. Gregory's Hall" in the memo line to 5545 N Paulina St, Chicago, IL 60640. All donations are used to cover program and staff-related expenses of St. Gregory's Hall. No funds are used for general Parish operating expenses.

About the InstructorSarah Crow is a sacred artist who has mastered Baroque oil painting techniques (see her reproduction of Caravaggio’s Calling of Saint Matthew here). She is a former lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and currently the artist in residence at St. Gregory’s Hall where she maintains an active studio of both sacred art commissions and representational paintings.
