Our City and Our Church: The Story of Ed Marciniak, Chicago Catholic Activist

Picture

Wednesday, October 25,
6:00 p.m. Reception | 6:30 p.m. Talk
St. Ita Catholic Church, Jubilee Hall, 5500 N Broadway, Chicago

Join us for an evening with Charles Shanabruch, author of Ed Marciniak’s City and Church: A Voice of Conscience (ACTA Publications, 2023). A long-time Edgewater resident and St. Ita parishioner, Marciniak’s Catholic faith inspired his work as an author, labor leader, affordable housing, and civil rights advocate, and public servant. His life exemplifies the call of the laity to promote a just society in our neighborhood, city, and beyond.

Free and open to the public. RSVP by filling out the form below. Contact James Murphy with any questions.

Charles Shanabruch is Professor Emeritus at Saint Xavier University.

Copies of the book will be available to purchase and be signed by the author.

Presented by St. Gregory’s Hall, Canterbury House, Edgewater Historical Society, and Catholic Studies Department at DePaul University.
