St. Gregory the Great Parish Center, 3rd Floor A Medieval Nativity Illumination - perfect for Christmas cards or gifts! ❖ Learn the medieval technique of lavishly illuminating an initial letter ❖ Reproduce a 14th-century illumination of the letter ‘H’ with a nativity scene by Florentine artist Don Simone Camaldolese ❖ Make your own paints using a medieval recipe ❖ Gild details using genuine 23.5K shell gold Saturday 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Session 1 12:00 p.m.- 1:00 p.m. Lunch Break 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Session 2 Sunday 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Session 3 7:00 p.m. Come to our Convivium Marianum in the church! About the InstructorSarah Crow is a sacred artist who has mastered Baroque oil painting techniques (see her reproduction of Caravaggio’s Calling of Saint Matthew here). She is a former lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and currently the artist in residence at St. Gregory’s Hall where she maintains an active studio of both sacred art commissions and representational paintings.
